Account locking and unlocking on the web app

What is account locking on the web app?

  • The account will be locked out if an incorrect password has been entered more than 5 times.
  • Account can only be unlocked by Admin.
  • After unlocking, password can be reset, and user will be able to login.
  • Resetting a password does not unlock the user.
  • This is only applicable on the web app.
  • The count will only be reset if the account does not lock, and the correct password is entered.

 Once the account is locked, it can only be unlocked by Admin.

How do you Unlock a User?

Pre-requisite:

  1. View User Index permission is required.


Step 1: 

Click on the Users navigation bar item, within the Administration section. 

Step 2:

Search for the User who needs to be unlocked.

Step 3:

On the menu at the top, click on Edit menu-item.

Step 4:

On the right-hand side, on the block for Security Settings, which is below Change User Password block, click on Unlock Account button.

Step 5:

A confirmation message will show that account has been Unlocked.

The status of the Account will now reflect that the Account is active.

At this point the password of the user can be changed, and they will be able to login.
